Day 1: Fes to Merzouga
The morning, we start the activity of the first day of our desert tour- Morocco short trips. To make the most of your day, early dfeparture from Fes. And we will pass through:
• Ifrane: Often referred to as “moroccan Switzerland”, this picturesque town is worth a quick stop.
• Azrou: visit the cedar forests and, if lucky, spot some Barbary macaques.
• Midelt: Stop for lunch in this town known for its apple orchards.
• Ziz Valley: Enjoy the stunning views of palm groves and the Ziz River.
• Erfoud: Known for its fossil quarries, Erfoud is the world capital of fossils and fossilized marble. If time allows, we will visit a fossils factory to give you an idea about how plates of fossils and fossilized marble are transformed into real object of art.
Erfoud is also a gateway to the Sahara.
• Merzouga: Upon arrival to Merzouga, camel ride to access to the sahara desert camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi dunes to spend the night in a berber tent under the sky full of stars. On the way, we will make a stop to enjoy the special sunset from Erg Chebbi dunes. Experience traditional Berber hospitality and local music.
Day 2: Merzouga to Marrakech
We will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes. After that we take breakfast at the camp. Then we continue the activity of this desert trip. We take the road direction to Rissani. This city is the old capital of Sijilmassa and the origin of Alaouite dynasty that govern Morocco.
Rissani is also known for its Ksours, kasbahs and its “Souk”, (market) the oldest in all the region, that we will visit.
Enjoy amazing landscapes along the way
Then we will continue the path passing through Jorf, Tinejdad, Tinghir an Ouarzazate to reach the city of wonders Marrakech late the afternoon. On the way, we will make some stops for lunch and to enjoy the scenic views. Aamzing landscapes all along the way.
